Call Background

As an extension of the Post-derive painting project, I began to think of forms of composition that partially adhered to the formal constraints of the algorithm while allowing for the freedom of a close-to-daily practice.

The result is a living collage that doubles as the background to my daily video calls at work and that follows an exercise of selecting an image from an informal archive of print materials, and applying a variation of the original algorithm to transform the source into a square from the grid.

the grid is arranged to replicate a calendar month and new entries are only created on the days I work at the office.
